There is 50% discount available for Members of English Heritage, CADW and Manx Heritage on their first-year entry. Duration Required For Visit: Minimum two hours.
NOTE: Last entry is one hour before closing. During summer season last entry allowed before 5 pm while during winter it is allowed before 4 pm. The Castle remains closed on 25th and 26th December. On 1st January it opens at the 11 AM and closes at the 5 PM.

Facts: The castle was built on the volcanic rock which is known as a castle rock. In the period of King David I, it was the main center of royal power in Scotland. It is present at the elevation of 130 meters. In the 12th century ownership of Edinburgh Castle switched from Scotland to England. But after few year it back to Scotland again. During World War I, castle used as a prison.
