Entry fee is different for Indian citizen and Foreigner tourists. Indian’s need to pay Rs. 10 per person as a botanical garden Kolkata entry fee. While ticket price for foreigners is Rs. 100 per person. These prices are valid for this year only.

The garden is named after Bengali natural scientist and polymath Jagdish Chandra Bose. This is the abode of more than 12000 plant species. Which included some rare tropical and herbal plant species. This garden is known for the very famous “The Great Banyan Tree“. This is the largest banyan tree present in the world. This 250 years old tree is spread over the area of 18,918 square meters. This enormous banyan tree is having 3772 aerial roots and its highest branch length is around 24.5 meters. This sprawling behemoth, with its aerial roots forming a mesmerizing maze, is the undisputed king of the Garden.

If you are coming via Vidyasagar Setu, then Andul Station Road – New Town Bus, Barasat – Botanical Garden Bus, Dhulagorh – Bibirhat Bus and Alampur – Kolkata Station Bus are available for you from Kolkata. The botanical garden bus stop is the nearest bus stop from the park.
