Nandur Madhmeshwar Bird Sanctuary, often referred to as "Maharashtra's Bharatpur," is a haven for bird enthusiasts, located approximately 40 km from Nashik. Entry Fees for adults is ₹20. For children (between 6-12 years) you have to pay ₹10.​ The sanctuary opens at around 7:00 AM. The best time to visit is from September to March, when the climate is pleasant, and migratory birds are present. Early morning visits are recommended for optimal bird-watching experiences.

Nandur Madhmeshwar Bird Sanctuary Information

This reservoir was developed around Nandur Madhmeshwar Dam. This Dam has been constructed on the Sangam of the Godavari and Kadawa river. The reservoir’s shallow water, the various herbs, the coastal forests and the crops in nearby irrigated fields have made this an attractive place for birds, and it is considered a great place for their residence.

There are more than 240 types of birds found in this bird sanctuary. There are 24 types of fish found in the reservoirs here. You can experience a diversity of plants of more than 400 species in the area.

The migratory birds like Pochard, Gadwall, Shoveler, Pintail, Crane, Pelicans, Godwit, Sand Piper, Harrier, Pratincole are found in this wonderful bird sanctuary. Since the reservoir has a number of water plants and large trees, the small and large local migratory birds of different species are visible. These varied sized of birds, their color combination and sound easily attracting tourist toward this bird sanctuary.

Nandur Madhmeshwar Bird Sanctuary Entry Fees / Ticket Price

20 Rs. is an entry fee for adult and 10 Rs. for child above 6 years and below 12 years. Also, need to pay entrance fees for vehicles. For two wheeler – Rs. 15, Three Wheeler – Rs. 30, Four Wheeler – Rs. 50, Six Wheeler – Rs 75 entry fee is required.

How To Reach?

The nearest big city is Nashik. The distance between Nashik to Nandur Madhamesh Wildlife Sanctuary is 40 kms. You can reach Chapadgaon Observatory Gallery via Nashik Chandori Phata-Sankheda-Shigwe. The distance from Niphad is only 12 kms. If you are coming from Pune or Shirdi then the distance from the Sinnar is 25 kms. State bus transport and local taxi services are available to reach there.
